Judith Searle began Careful Books and heads the bookkeeping team. The business today is much different from its beginnings (one desktop computer on a desk in a home office). Today our team is global and embraces the advances in technology that allow us to work this way. We use technology to provide better services for our clients. Judith is a registered BAS agent (Certificate IV in Bookkeeping) and has an Arts Degree double majoring in Economics and majoring in Geography. After graduating Judith worked in the Parliamentary Counsel’s office. She married Les and managed an accountant’s office for twelve months. Two boys and a move to Townsville ensued. Judith began her bookkeeping career when an accountant friend needed help for some of his small business clients. She trained under him and gained experience in a range of businesses. A move to Cairns followed and Judith continued to help small businesses with their bookkeeping. She started her own business in 1995, as she wanted to work around her school-aged boys. Her first client still uses her services. Judith’s love of numbers (Sudoku included), eye for detail and bookkeeping knowledge and experience have allowed her to provide a service tailored specifically for each client. She has welcomed the advances in technology and uses them to enhance the customer experience and allow her clients to free up their time for family and personal interests or for working on their business. Judith is a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and the Australian Bookkeepers Network.
